HFJ #1

Hatchet Force Journal Issue #1 is now on sale at Amazon.com!

HATCHET FORCE JOURNAL is a new e-zine (all digital eBook format) project, created by yours truly, and dedicated primarily to the post-modern pulp fiction / "men's adventure" craze of the 60's through the 80's.  Earlier inspirations from before this time period and later works looking to tie into this sub-genre will also be discussed.

Hatchet Force Journal will look at some of the following:

Books: The Executioner, Death Merchant, SOBs, Able Team, Nick Carter: Killmaster, Vitenam: Ground Zero, and The Survivalist.

Television: The A-Team, Knight Rider, Airwolf, Macgyver, and Magnum P.I.,.

Movies: First Blood, Delta Force, Commando, The Expendables, Kill Bill, and The Getaway.

Plus many, many more.

Hatchet Force Journal will also include editorials and essays on the nature of the "men's adventure" sub-genre, its social origins, and the affect this material has had on its readers and society at large over the years, as well as spotlight interviews with authors and other bloggers.  I hope to also include short stories and fiction excerpts if people are interested in submitting such material.

At the moment, my plan is to release HFJ #1 through Amazon, followed closely by Smashwords.  The tentative price as of right now is $2.99 for the first issue, but that may change depending on the feedback the first issue receives.

EDIT: As of July 18th, the Journal has been reduced in price to just ninety-nine cents!

If you use Facebook, you can "like" the Hatchet Force Journal fan page by going to: www.facebook.com/HatchetForceJournal. I'll be posting news, updates, and reviews.

Anyone who is interested in submitting material for consideration, or if you have any questions or comments about the project, feel free to e-mail me directly (my address is j.e.badelaire [at] gmail [dot] com).  Submissions should be in a .doc or .docx format, no PDFs please.

You can also buy a multi-file format ebook bundle via Gumroad.
